Optometric Assistant

Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and patient focused Optometric Assistant to join our dynamic team. As an Optometric Assistant, you will play a key role in assisting our optometrists with patient care, maintaining office operations, and providing excellent service to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist patients with their needs during appointments
• Perform preliminary eye exams, including measuring vision and performing tests like tonometry, visual field testing, and autorefractor testing, retinal photography
• Clean and maintain equipment and exam rooms
• Answer and handle patient inquiries
• Educate patients on proper eye care and eye health

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; certification as an optometric assistant is a plus
• Experience in an optometric or healthcare setting is preferred but not required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Proficient in using office software and electronic health record systems
