Hello Neighbor is seeking a Stabilization Case Aide to support Hello Neighbor’s critical intervention case management programs in the Health & Stabilization Department. This program serves vulnerable ORR-eligible immigrants and refugees, offering a range of services from light case management for 90 days to intensive case management for up to one year, dependent on case assessments. The Stabilization Case Aide will work alongside the Stabilization and Intensive Case Managers to evaluate and implement appropriate case management services to increase the stability of the individual or family enrolled. This role is integral to ensuring clients receive compassionate, timely, and effective services that promote self-sufficiency and well-being.
This Case Aide role will work within a specialized department, the Health and Stabilization Department that provides critical intervention and specialized programming to support our local immigrants and refugees. This will include providing service coordination, appointment accompaniment, extended cultural orientation, and advocacy in accessing culturally and linguistically appropriate services. Founded in 2017, Hello Neighbor works to improve the lives of recently resettled refugee families by matching them with dedicated neighbors to guide and support them in their new home. We’ve expanded from our mentorship program to now include refugee resettlement services, family service programs, a national program supporting other refugee and immigrant nonprofits around the country.
This is an in-house, regular, full-time, non-exempt position at our Pittsburgh, PA office in Larimer. We are currently on a hybrid work schedule of 9am-5pm Monday through Friday; in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays and work-from-home on Mondays and Fridays. We require COVID-19 vaccination for full-time employees. The successful candidate must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
Reports To: Stabilization Case Manager
\n- Provides support to the Stabilization team
- Assist in receiving referrals, verifying eligibility, assessing cases, and creating service plans
- Works collaboratively with the Stabilization team to ensure comprehensive service delivery tailored to client needs, from light case management for 90 days to intensive case management for up to one year.
- Supports individuals and families by coordinating and attending appointments, conducting follow-ups, and facilitating access to benefits and resources such as housing, healthcare, and public assistance.
- Educates clients on self-sufficiency strategies, including navigating transportation, healthcare systems, and community services.
- Maintains thorough documentation of all client interactions and services, adhering to confidentiality guidelines.
- Communicates regularly with team members and external partners to ensure a coordinated, trauma-informed approach to client support.
- Advocates for culturally and linguistically appropriate services for clients, including coordinating interpretation and translation as needed.
- Participates in regular supervision meetings and relevant staff meetings.
- Adheres to Hello Neighbor’s confidentiality guidelines and ensures the appropriate handling of sensitive information.
- Other duties as assigned within the scope of position expectations.
- Bilingual or multilingual in a priority language is strongly preferred (Dari, Pashto).
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience working with refugee and immigrant communities or in a culturally diverse environment.
- Possesses cultural competencies, including knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors relevant to the Afghan community.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, with compassionate, professional interactions with clients, staff, and partners.
- Skilled at task management, including prioritizing, meeting deadlines, and managing multiple responsibilities.
- Car, valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance are required.
- Willingness to transport families in your personal vehicle.
- Experience navigating the U.S. healthcare system, including medical insurance and appointments, is a plus.
- Familiarity with working with interpreters and advocating for trauma-informed, culturally sensitive care.
- Willingness to work nights and weekends as necessary and share on-call responsibilities with the team.
- Digital literacy and the ability to learn new software systems.

- Lived migration experience or fluency in Dari, Pashto, or other languages relevant to the Afghan community is a plus.

- This is a full-time, non-exempt, limited term contract ending 9/30/2025 in-house position at our Pittsburgh office in the Larimer neighborhood with a possibility of extension, pending funding determinations
- Clearances required: Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Clearance, Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Criminal History Clearance (PA Act 23 & Act 24); Mandatory Reporter and/or PSEA training may also be required depending on job requirements

- $18.50 - $20 hourly, nonexempt
