Medical Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care within a clinical setting, ensuring that all procedures are conducted efficiently and effectively. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, medication administration, and the ability to work in both outpatient and hospital environments, including Level I and Level II Trauma Centers.

Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures
• Prepare patients for their appointments by taking vital signs and medical histories
• Administer medications as directed by physicians and ensure proper documentation
• Perform basic life support (BLS) as needed
• Maintain accurate patient records, including coding for billing purposes
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control measures
• Assist in the management of clinic operations, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a clinical or hospital setting preferred, particularly in hospital medicine or outpatient care
• Proficiency in medical terminology and coding practices
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills

Pay: $12.50 - $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
