What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Patient Coordinator position at Helm Eye Center?
Do you have quality customer service skills and a positive courteous manner? As one of our front desk representatives you greet patients and answer the phone creating a first impression of our medical practice. The desired candidate is professional with extreme attention to detail, sympathetic to sensitive patient issues, exhibits accuracy while registering new patients and updating existing patient demographics and insurance information, and has strong written/verbal communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the front desk operations and ensure smooth daily operations of the office
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience
- Schedule and confirm appointments, coordinating with healthcare providers and patients
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information about the office services
- Maintain patient records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist with insurance documentation, insurance claims and verify patient insurance coverage
- Collect payments and manage financial transactions
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure efficient patient flow
- Monitor inventory of office supplies and place orders as needed
Skills:
- Strong administrative skills with proficiency in managing office operations
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction
- Experience working in a dental or medical office or customer service setting is a plus
- Knowledge of dental or medical terminology is a plus
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients, staff, and healthcare providers
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
- Computer proficient
