Job Summary
The Volunteer Coordinator plays a vital role in managing and enhancing our volunteer program. This position is responsible for recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers to ensure they have a meaningful experience while contributing to the HELP, Inc mission statement. The Administrative Assistant will help organize paperwork, answer the phone, compile documents, help the director in day to day operations as needed. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for community engagement.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement volunteer strategies to attract diverse candidates.
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer hours and contributions using QuickBooks or similar software.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteers, providing ongoing support and guidance.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify volunteer needs and opportunities.
- Create and manage Excel spreadsheets, data entry and other vital computer programs
- Overtake the CFSP and Link2Feed programs and properly enter client information, as detailed through both HELP, Inc and DHS as needed.
- Attended trainings, conferences and engage in community based programs to help strengthen our community partnership along the director.
Requirements
- Previous in an office setting preferred, this includes a non-profit environment
- Strong computer literacy skills, including proficiency in QuickBooks and calendar management tools.
- A basic understanding of the community we serve (unhoused, underprivileged, at risk individuals, elders)
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer support and service excellence.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
