What You’ll Do
As a Maintenance Tech for HELP USA’s Suffolk shelter for families experiencing homelessness, you’ll help provide our residents a clean and well-maintained living space that feels as much like home as possible during their stay with us. Your daily responsibilities will include preparing apartments for turnover (painting, carpentry, flooring, and cleaning including bathroom fixtures and kitchen appliances), grounds maintenance, snow removal, garbage and trash disposal, and other maintenance-related related repairs and activities for the site.
You’re a great fit for this role if you:
Can lift 75 pounds.
Can operate small machinery, power tools, and hand tools.
Have prior maintenance experience including painting, light carpentry, and basic plumbing.
Have a High School Diploma or equivalent OR equivalent experience and skills.
It would be helpful (but not required) if you have:
Some basic knowledge of wiring, boilers, and HVAC systems.
