We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Activities Director to join our team in enhancing the quality of life for our residents. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing engaging activities that cater to the diverse interests and needs of our community, particularly focusing on senior care. Responsibilities
- Develop and coordinate a comprehensive activities program that promotes physical, mental, and social well-being for residents.
- Schedule and manage daily activities, ensuring a variety of options are available to meet the interests of all residents.
- Collaborate with staff members to assess residents' needs and preferences to tailor activities accordingly.
- Facilitate recreational therapy sessions and social events that encourage participation from all residents.
- Provide support and assistance to residents during activities, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Engage with families and caregivers to encourage involvement in community events.
- Maintain records of participation in activities and evaluate the effectiveness of programs regularly.
- Train and supervise volunteers or staff assisting with activities.
Experience
- Previous experience in senior care or related fields such as social work, caregiving, or recreational therapy is preferred.
- Strong skills in schedule management to effectively organize multiple activities simultaneously.
- Familiarity with memory care practices and working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff.
- A compassionate approach towards assisting individuals with dementia care or other cognitive impairments.
- Ability to create a welcoming atmosphere that encourages resident participation in various programs.
