Job Overview
Helping Hands of RVA is seeking a qualified and compassionate Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) to join our dedicated team. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate mental health needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments.
- Provide direct support through clinical counseling, including cognitive behavioral therapy and group therapy sessions.
- Utilize crisis management techniques to address urgent patient needs effectively.
- Collaborate with social workers and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Document all interactions and interventions in compliance with ICD-9 standards.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in psychopharmacology and mental health care.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
- Proven experience in clinical counseling or direct support within a mental health setting.
- Familiarity with crisis management strategies and patient care protocols.
- Knowledge of psychopharmacology and its application in treatment plans.
- Experience conducting group therapy sessions is highly desirable.
- Strong background in social work principles is a plus.
- Ability to assess patients effectively using established assessment tools.
