Mason Counseling Group is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) to join our team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. As a QMHP, you will provide essential mental health services to individuals with various emotional, psychological, and behavioral needs. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for clients.
- Provide therapeutic interventions and support for individuals with mental health disorders.
- Offer crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques when necessary.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and support staff to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes as required.
- Offer guidance and support to clients and their families regarding mental health treatment.
- Monitor and track client progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
- Must meet state requirements to be considered a QMHP (Qualified Mental Health Professional).
- Previous experience in mental health counseling or a related field preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Empathetic, nonjudgmental approach to working with diverse populations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of mental health disorders, treatment modalities, and crisis intervention strategies.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding mental health care and confidentiality.
- Skills in conducting comprehensive mental health assessments and developing treatment plans.
- Skills in therapeutic counseling techniques, including individual and group therapy.
- Skills in crisis intervention, de-escalation, and conflict resolution.
- Ability to work with diverse populations, including children, adults, and families.
- Ability to manage a caseload effectively and prioritize tasks.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries while building strong therapeutic relationships with clients.
- Ability to collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress and treatment plans.
