Job Summary
Helping Hands of RVA is seeking qualified and compassionate Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) to join our dedicated team. The QMHP will provide essential mental health services to individuals across various settings, including inpatient and outpatient environments. This role involves working closely with clients to assess their needs, develop treatment plans, and implement therapeutic interventions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in case management, counseling, and patient care, with a focus on supporting children and families as well as individuals facing addiction challenges.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ mental health needs in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Develop individualized treatment plans that address the specific needs of clients, incorporating evidence-based practices.
- Provide therapy and counseling services to children, families, and individuals dealing with various mental health issues, including addiction.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage client engagement and facilitate positive behavioral changes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care and effective case management for clients.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and treatment outcomes in compliance with clinic policies.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development and improve service delivery.
- Provide support for geriatric patients as needed, ensuring their unique mental health needs are addressed.
Experience
- A degree in psychology, social work, or a related field is required; relevant licensure or certification is preferred.
- Experience in inpatient settings is highly desirable.
- Proven skills in case management and outpatient therapy practices.
- Familiarity with child family counseling techniques.
- Knowledge of addiction counseling methods is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
- Experience working in clinical environments, demonstrating effective patient care practices.

Pay: $24.00 - $25.00 per hour
