Overview
The Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) plays a crucial role in providing mental health support and counseling to individuals facing various challenges. This position involves working with diverse populations, including those with chronic pain and autism, to develop effective treatment plans and facilitate therapeutic interventions. The QMHP will utilize their expertise in behavior management and group therapy to promote mental well-being and enhance the quality of life for clients.

Duties

• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address mental health issues.
• Provide chronic pain counseling, utilizing evidence-based practices.
• Implement behavior management strategies tailored to individual client needs.
• Facilitate group therapy sessions, fostering a supportive environment for participants.
• Utilize ICD-10 coding for accurate documentation and reporting of client diagnoses.
• Engage in research activities to stay updated on best practices in mental health treatment.
• Work collaboratively with individuals on the autism spectrum, employing specialized techniques to support their unique needs.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology to communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Support clients in developing coping strategies and life skills through structured programs.

Qualifications

• A degree in psychology, social work, or a related field is required.
• Experience in individual group counseling and chronic pain counseling is preferred.
• Familiarity with ICD-10 coding and medical terminology is essential.
• Proven ability to conduct group therapy sessions effectively.
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques is highly desirable.
• Experience working with individuals with autism or special education backgrounds is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with mental health research.
