Job Summary
The Culinary Director is a vital leadership position responsible for managing all culinary operations in our 40-bed assisted living community. We’re looking for a dynamic, creative, and service-driven individual who can lead a team, craft nutritious and delicious menus, and ensure high standards of quality, safety, and presentation.
Schedule & Pay
- Full-Time
- Tuesday to Saturday, 6:00 AM – 12:30 PM
- Pay: $17.50/hour
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement creative menus that cater to various dietary needs and preferences
- Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards
- Manage inventory, ordering, and maintenance of kitchen equipment
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, supporting their growth and development
- Coordinate food service for daily meals, banquets, and special events
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless resident experience
- Monitor food costs and reduce waste to maintain profitability without sacrificing quality
- Stay current with industry trends to continually enhance menu offerings
Required Skills & Experience
- Proficient in food handling practices and safety regulations
- Strong experience in banquet and event catering
- Excellent leadership and shift management skills
- In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques and kitchen operations
- Proven ability to supervise and motivate staff in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in menu planning, food service, and cost control
