Staffing Coordinator Job Responsibilities:
- Develop Nursing Department work schedules by allocating employees in shifts and position
- Fulfilling staffing vacancies in advance to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts
- Keeping meticulous attendance records and assisting with the progressive disciplinary process if staff members accrue excessive absences and/or tardiness.
- Communicating with Unit Managers, In-Service Director and the Director of Nursing regarding floor orientation scheduling for newly hired employees in the nursing department.
- Informs the supervisor(s) of last minute shift changes ensuring proper shift coverage.
- Checking time clock punch records against master schedules and noting the appropriate changes.
- Filling time correction forms for events such as missing meal periods or forgetting to clock in/out.
- Acts as liaison with temporary staffing agencies who send nurses/nursing assistants to the facility
- Utilizing computer software to prepare, change and update the master schedule.
- Develop staff and promote a supportive team environment.
- Assume responsibility for timekeeping and time off requests
- Collaborate with payroll to ensure correct employee compensation
- Ensure compliance with internal and external policies and regulations
- Prepare and submit reports on staffing operations
Staffing Coordinator Requirements:
- Cheerful, Creative, and Positive Thinker
- Prior experience as staffing coordinator or similar position required
- 2 years’ experience in health related field preferred but not required
- Experience working with computer systems and software
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook is required
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Excellent time management & prioritization skills required
- Collaborative spirit and willingness to learn
