Food Expeditor

Job Title: Hemlock Steakhouse Expediter

Job Type: Full-Time/Part-Time

Reports To: Chef Team

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the liaison between the kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure timely and accurate food delivery.
• Inspect all plates before they leave the kitchen, ensuring they meet presentation, temperature, and quality standards.
• Ensure proper plating, garnishing, and adherence to restaurant standards.
• Communicate with chefs about any modifications, allergies, or special requests from guests.
• Manage order flow, prioritizing orders for efficiency and accuracy.
• Coordinate timing of courses, ensuring proper pacing for guests’ dining experience.
• Maintain a clean and organized expo station.
• Work closely with servers to ensure smooth food service and address any issues promptly.
• Assist in training new staff members on food presentation and kitchen communication procedures.
• Monitor and manage food quality, alerting chefs to any inconsistencies.
• Uphold health and safety regulations to ensure a sanitary work environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Prior experience as an expediter, line cook, or in a similar role in a fine dining establishment preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with attention to detail.
• Knowledge of proper food handling and safety procedures.
• Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently.
• Familiarity with steak temperatures and fine dining plating standards.
• A team player with a proactive attitude.
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Capable of lifting up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to work in a hot and fast-paced kitchen environment.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
