Job Title: Hemlock Steakhouse Expediter
Job Type: Full-Time/Part-Time
Reports To: Chef Team
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the liaison between the kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure timely and accurate food delivery.
- Inspect all plates before they leave the kitchen, ensuring they meet presentation, temperature, and quality standards.
- Ensure proper plating, garnishing, and adherence to restaurant standards.
- Communicate with chefs about any modifications, allergies, or special requests from guests.
- Manage order flow, prioritizing orders for efficiency and accuracy.
- Coordinate timing of courses, ensuring proper pacing for guests’ dining experience.
- Maintain a clean and organized expo station.
- Work closely with servers to ensure smooth food service and address any issues promptly.
- Assist in training new staff members on food presentation and kitchen communication procedures.
- Monitor and manage food quality, alerting chefs to any inconsistencies.
- Uphold health and safety regulations to ensure a sanitary work environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Prior experience as an expediter, line cook, or in a similar role in a fine dining establishment preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of proper food handling and safety procedures.
- Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently.
- Familiarity with steak temperatures and fine dining plating standards.
- A team player with a proactive attitude.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to work in a hot and fast-paced kitchen environment.
