Summary
This is a strategic individual contributor role within the procurement function focused on working with key stakeholders to set, execute and manage category spend strategies aimed at ensuring supply at the best overall value to HSC. This role is responsible for the strategic sourcing and category management activities for HSC’s indirect spend categories. This role will serve as the business manager for the spend and have oversight and influence on the overall procurement strategy. This individual will be responsible for building collaborative relationships with the business functions it represents and serve as an advisor to the business on market trends, pricing and risk-mitigation.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for strategic sourcing and category management within defined areas of responsibility with the overall objective to create total cost advantage for the company.
- Actively manages spend categories in a product line manager type of an approach continuously reviewing spend data, market data and trends, supply sources and adjusts strategies to maximize both short and long-term business objectives.
- Works closely with the Procurement Manager, fellow Category Managers and Buyers to ensure alignment of strategies, a uniform approach to the procurement function and to support teamwork across the function.
- Builds upstream and downstream cross-functional relationships with business functions, external partners and strategic suppliers.
- Represents procurement on assigned strategic projects and / or initiatives for the company.

The range for this position is $103,360.00 - $142,120.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, variable bonus, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
