What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intern, R&D Project Management position at HemoSonics, LLC?
PURPOSE OF POSITION
This is a paid full-summer internship offering full-time on-site work experience in the R&D Program Management department for an in vitro diagnostic Point of Care (POC) system during the summer months. In addition to the experience gained through their team, and the other opportunities provided during their time at HemoSonics, all interns are required to conclude the program by giving a formal presentation on their work.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with an interdisciplinary team, under the direction of the Program Management Director on a project centered around the product development design control process. In owning this project, the chosen intern could expect to gain experience such as:
- Oversight of the full design control process
- Leading weekly interdisciplinary meetings
- Formally tracking action items and project progress
- Ensure design documentation is handled correctly, per company, regulatory and quality requirements
- Project hand over to operations
- Give a formal presentation on their work at the conclusion of the program.
- Conduct activities in compliance with laboratory safety and good laboratory practices.

- Confidence to lead meetings and track action items.
- Strong verbal & written communication skills
- Effective analytical and quantitative skills.
- Ability to work effectively on an interdisciplinary team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Self-starting, self-motivated and capable of working independently when necessary.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Currently enrolled student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering or industrial engineering.
- Rising Seniors will receive priority. Rising Juniors will be considered.
