    Job Summary: The HR Generalist is responsible for providing support to assigned area(s) for a wide variety of human resources activities including, recruiting, compensation, and employee and labor relations. The HR generalist will advise administrators, supervisors, and employees in HR practices, provide information to employees about regulations, contract language, and policies, and to provide general support.

    Position Information:

    • Full-Time, with benefits
    • 261 work days per year

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Responsible for administering the district’s benefits program; coordinating benefits for all employees, administering new hire and annual open enrollment
    • Responsible for maintenance and audit of all benefits information in the District’s information system, benefit carrier systems and on the district website
    • Collaborates with insurance company representatives regarding employee issues and benefits changes relating to medical (HSA and flex spending), dental, prescription, vision, life and COBRA insurance coverages
    • Processes and tracks quarterly retiree billing, enrollment, and eligibility
    • Administers the leave of absence process for staff members
    • Coordinates workers’ compensation process as situations arise
    • Generates employee and retiree health insurance coverage information for all government mandatory compliance reporting
    • Coordinates the District Wellness program
    • Assist in the review, testing and implementation of HRIS system upgrades. Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
    • Advise and guide supervisors and managers regarding policies and procedures.
    • Correspond with and assist district employees and candidates with all HR/Benefits questions and concerns.
    • Assist with recruitment events.
    • Maintains HRIS records and compiles reports.
    • Assist with submission of reports including but not limited to PIMS, EEO Report, and other employee related reports, as necessary.
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required
    • Three to five years of experience in Human Resources, including Benefits experience

    Required Documents:
    • Current PA Criminal History background check
    • Current Federal Criminal (FBI) background check
    • Current Child Abuse background check
