What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor position at Hempler Foods Group LLC?
Hempler Foods Group is seeking experienced Supervisors. The Supervisor oversees all aspects of 2nd shift operations within the department. This role is responsible for leading, motivating, and managing employees to optimize performance and productivity. The supervisor collaborates closely with teams across warehouse, quality assurance, maintenance, and other production departments to coordinate daily activities and ensure manufacturing schedules are met efficiently. The position requires strict adherence to regulations and procedures, including GMP, safety, and sanitation standards, while fostering a positive team culture within the department.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate development of employees through coaching, leadership and training
Initiates counseling and corrective action for disciplinary issues
Ensures safety standards are complied with, and employees work in a safe manner
Assist in accident investigations
Ensure reports are completely and accurately filled out and done in a timely fashion
Conduct or attend staff meetings
Apply long-term and short-term planning techniques
Oversee Projects and monitor crewing needs
Create and maintain an environment of continuous improvement
Ensure employees understand and exercise Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
Establish, promote, and maintain safety standards, utilizing employee meetings, Safety Committee and effective training
Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Experience with Microsoft Office Programs
Fluent in English and Spanish is a plus
Must have strong working knowledge of food safety and regulatory business standards, practices, policies, procedures and state and federal laws and regulations including but not limited to HACCP, GMP’s SSOP’s, OSHA, and Labor Laws.
Understanding of TPM, Lean, problem solving, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Professional communication (written, spoken).
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This employee regularly works in the production plant and office.
Ability to frequently sit, stand, and walk.
Physical work includes climbing stairs, etc.
Willing to work in a various-temperature environment
Ability to handle weighting items up to 50lbs or may need to move objects safely and with proper body mechanics.
Wage & Benefits
$80,000-$90,000/annually
