Key Responsibilities:

1. Patient Interaction:

  • Greet and escort patients to examination rooms.
  • Take and record vital signs and medical histories.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and explain procedures.

2. Clinical Duties:

  • Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
  • Perform basic laboratory tests as directed by a provider.
  • Change dressings and remove sutures as instructed/under the supervision of a provider.

3. Administrative Tasks:

  • Schedule patient appointments and manage calendars.
  • Maintain and update patient records with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including phone calls and emails.
  • Process billing and insurance claims as needed.

4. Facility Management:

  • Ensure examination rooms are clean, stocked, and organized.
  • Maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Follow infection control and safety guidelines.

5. Communication:

  • Serve as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers.
  • Provide patients with educational materials and answer basic health questions.
  • Coordinate with laboratories and other healthcare facilities for tests and referrals.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred.
  • Certification (e.g., CMA or RMA) is advantageous.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology and procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English (spoken and written) is required.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily works in a clinical setting such as a doctor's office or hospital.
  • May involve long periods of standing and assisting patients.
  • Requires adherence to health and safety regulations.

Reports To:

  • Supervising Physician, Office Manager, or Chief MA.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
