Role Overview
- You’ll be providing primary care services (basic health care) for patients both in-person at a clinic and remotely through telehealth (video or phone appointments).
- You’ll treat patients of all ages, and while pediatric experience is a bonus, it’s not required.
Responsibilities:
In-Person Patient Care:
- Check patients' health (take medical histories, do physical exams).
- Diagnose and treat common illnesses or chronic conditions.
- Order and review tests (like bloodwork or X-rays).
- Prescribe medications or treatments.
- Create health plans and educate patients on how to stay healthy.
Telehealth (Virtual Appointments):
- Talk to patients via video or phone about their health issues.
- Manage ongoing health conditions remotely.
- Ensure virtual care meets the same standards as in-person care.
Who You’ll Work With:
- Reports To: Lead Physician or Clinic Director
- Doctors, nurses, and other specialists to ensure the best care for patients.
- You’ll also join team meetings and contribute to improving the clinic’s services.
Documentation:
- Keep detailed notes on patient visits, both in-person and virtual, using an electronic health record (EHR) system.
Professional Development:
- Stay updated on the latest medical practices.
- Attend training to sharpen your skills.
Qualifications
- You need a valid Nurse Practitioner license in NY, plus national certification.
- 2-3 years experience in primary care.
- Proficiency in Spanish and English (spoken and written) is required.
- Experience with kids and telehealth is a plus.
- Strong medical knowledge, great communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
- Comfort with technology like virtual care platforms and EHR systems.
