Henderson Engineers is seeking a BIM Technical Manager to join their Retail Sector. The BIM Technical Manager is responsible for managing the execution of quality and efficiency strategies and policies related to 3D models for engineering projects within the sector. This position requires a deep understanding of BIM processes, software, and expertise so that they can drive initiatives that their team can execute. We are looking for a candidate that can provide strategy and ideas, in addition to being a lead to a team of BIM Technicians. The BIM Technical manager will be focused on automation, content creation, and troubleshooting 60% of the time, while the other 40% is spent training, providing feedback, and identifying needs in BIM throughout the sector.

Teams with Sector Technical Director to align BIM approaches across sector, maintaining consistency with companywide quality strategies.
Proactively monitors technical quality within the sector, responding appropriately to areas of concern or options for improvement.
Provides feedback to Sector leadership to inform technical strategies of the sector.
Shares feedback to sector leadership regarding the performance quality of BIM staff.
Manages quality-assurance tools, processes, and databases, ensures judicious application of these resources.
Serves as a technical resource/expert within the sector.
Oversees technical training and mentoring needs of the sector and provides ongoing mentoring to production teams within the sector including newly hired staff.
Identifies, delegates, and executes process improvement strategies and tasks.
Teams across Sectors to align and maximize efforts based on common needs from a company-wide perspective.
Participates in interviewing to evaluate technical proficiency of potential talent for the practice.
Provides advanced support and troubleshooting to designers regarding BIM software errors.
Creates advanced families and schedules to support project requirements.
Contributes to the development and maintenance of organization-specific BIM standards and data governance strategies.
Develops automation scripts and custom coding to enhance BIM workflows and automate repetitive tasks and trains others in these skills. Dynamo and Python will be utilized. Assists in estimating development costs and benefits of automations.
Collaborates with project teams to identify opportunities for automation and coding to improve efficiency.
Generates data visualizations to present BIM-related information in a visually informative way. PowerBI experience preferred.
Participates in coordination meetings to discuss BIM-related issues, updates and progress.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, science, or technology preferred. Relevant experience in leadership/management position will be considered in lieu of requisite education.
Eight (8 ) or greater years of relevant experience, with a minimum of two (2 ) years leadership/management experience, preferred.
Comprehensive knowledge in BIM and a track record of technical excellence in such field.
Experience using Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revit, Navis Works or similar applications.
Knowledge of Dynamo, Python, and subsequent programming language(s).
History of contributing to technically sound teams, as well as ability to motivate and coach others.
Comprehensive knowledge of the technical needs of the industry and proven track record of quality monitoring, maintenance, and improvement.
Demonstrated ability to mobilize company technical strategies through project execution.
