What are the responsibilities and job description for the Migrant Education Program Outreach Specialist (25-26SY) position at Henderson County Schools?
LOCATION/DEPT: Migrant Education
REPORTS TO: Director of ESL/Migrant Education
FLSA Status : Non-Exempt
Start Date: 5/1/2025; Permanent Part Time with Full Benefits
10 month; 30 hours per week
Responsibilities:
- Seeking out and identifying MEP families to complete Certificate of Eligibility and connect families with services.
- Promote relationships between students and counselors, teacher, and/or other school staff, as needed, to discuss student's courses, grades, and educational resources.
- Complete needs assessments.
- Provide needs based services.
- Support out of school and in school youth as needed.
- Occasional travel.
- Attend all required state trainings.
- Hours vary widely as needed and depending on agricultural season.
- Evening work will be required during peak season.
Qualifications:
- HS Diploma Required, Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish Required
- Strong organizational skills and ability to to make decisions independently
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Strong communication skills
- Familiarity with Powerschool, MSIX or other database
- Evening Hours required
- Personal Transportation and Valid Drivers License Required, mileage reimbursement provided
