Role : Construction Senior Estimator
Salary : $150,000 - $200,000
Company : NYC based General Contractor / Construction Manager
About the Role :
This position is responsible for preparing cost estimates for construction projects, or services to aid management in bidding on or determining price of product or service. May specialize according to particular service performed or type of product manufactured.
What you'll do :
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs to determine accurate scope of work; organize the quantities with unit pricing in production of an estimate
- Review and estimate / budget scope of work based on drawing & construction documents
- Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating price
- Responsible for calculating labor, material and all other costs associated with a project
- Create and submit proposals to Clients within the specified timeframe
- Responsible for managing and prioritizing multiple estimates / projects
- Prepare and issue RFI's based on construction drawings
- Responsible for creating and giving presentations to the Clients & Client Reps
- Prepare and maintain AIA contracts and contract documentation
- Create and execute sub contracts
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors
- Responsible for building full conceptual cost estimates from architectural sketches / schematics
- Experience in developing and implementing value engineering solutions to drive down project costs for the Owner while maintaining a high level of construction quality
- Must be able to confidently negotiate throughout the bidding process
