What are the responsibilities and job description for the Press Operator position at Hendrick Manufacturing?
Duties:
The individual who functions in this position must carry out all of the functions associated with being a Machine Operator in our Fabrication / Plate Department. To qualify as a Machine Operator, an individual must be able to perform all of the following:
- Maintain each Press according to maintenance procedures and diagnose and perform routine preventive maintenance.
- Possess the ability to set up and operate the CNC Press Brake, Mechanical Press Brake and the Whitney Plasma Punch
- Produce product as described in the shop order, set proper die clearance, proper punch grade and apply proper lubrication.
- Read shop product as described on the shop order.
- Detect when a tool needs to be serviced, set up a tool accordingly and determine and set slide and stripper settings.
- Requires ability to multitask efficiently as required and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma.
- Must possess basic math and reading skills.
- Requires ability to read a ruler, set calipers, read blueprint and micrometer.
- 1 year of mechanical or related experience.
- Requires ability to lift 50 Lbs. unassisted.
- Standing for extended periods of time to a maximum of 12 hours.
- Stooping, bending, and stretching as necessary. Requires good hand to eye coordination.
- Regular attendance is required.
- May be assigned other duties as business needs require.
