What are the responsibilities and job description for the MRO Buyer position at Hendrickson Careers?
Position Purpose:
This individual is responsible for meeting purchasing needs for assigned areas of commodities and/or services including planning, requisition review, process and system input and supplier selection through delivery.
Essential Functions:
· Initiate, develop, implement, and track cost reduction programs for MRO items.
· Coordinate and lead Division MRO Supplier Performance Reviews.
· Negotiate and react to price changes from suppliers.
· Negotiate short and long term contracts with suppliers.
· Track and report plant spending.
· Track and control plant supplies.
· Assist with administrative projects.
Education and Training
· Associates Degree in Supply Management, Business or a related field preferred or 7-10 years experience in a purchasing related function.
· CPM or CPIM certified or pursuing certification preferred.
· Knowledgeable of MRPII purchasing applications.
· Ability to negotiate effectively.
· Minimum of 3-5 years experience in a purchasing related function.
· Good interpersonal and communication skills.
· Excellent PC skills, including Microsoft office programs.
