What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering CoOp position at Hendrickson Intl?
Hendrickson is the leading global manufacturer and supplier of heavy-duty mechanical, elastomeric and air suspensions; integrated and non-integrated axle systems; parabolic and multi-leaf springs; bumper and trim components to the global commercial transportation system. Our engineering department seeks the interest of engineering students desiring an internship beginning in May of 2024. Duties will be in support of manufacturing operations with an emphasis on preventive and predictive maintenance. Work performed will be at plant-level in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, consisting of a Monday - Friday, 7 : 00am - 3 : 30pm, work schedule. Primary duties include :
Help support manufacturing operations by participating in maintenance engineering activities
Administer the preventive maintenance system
Assist with equipment and machine troubleshooting to include involvement with PLCs and other controls
Support fixture and tooling upgrades for welding processes
Assist in developing bar coding and data traceability
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
REQUIREMENTS
College level engineering student with a qualifying GPA
Ability to operate industrial power tools
Hands-on experience with CAD / CAM technology (ProE or Creo preferred)
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
Job experience working with others as a member of a team
Knowledge of PLCs
Familiarity with robotic systems
Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatics
Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment
