Position Purpose :
The Generalist assists the HR Manager in recruiting for position vacancies by implementing the selection process through interviewing and screening applicants. Focuses on plant-wide safety, to include assisting the HR Manager in pro-active worker's compensation case management.
Essential Functions :
- Assists HR manager with continuous improvement projects as needed that may include participation on cross-functional teams and working with other locations.
- Work with supervisors and managers to assist with employee issues and questions to find resolution.
- Manage internal and external recruiting by working closely with the hiring managers to determine positions requirements, conduct phone screens, schedule onsite interviews, and manage the hiring process from start to finish.
- Maintain a positive employee culture with "on-the-floor" visibility and approachability, coordination of employee activities and events, and focusing efforts on employee retention.
- Maintains HR records by ensuring that documentation is completed, communicated, and retained.
- Assists HR Manager and plant-wide safety, pre-injury mitigation and coordination of worker's compensation claims.
- Delivers training for all associates, plant-wide to meet and maintain annual training requirements and developmental training opportunities.
- Manage FMLA, STD, WC, and employee leave situations.
- Benefits administration that includes general benefits questions, presenting benefit orientation to new hires and communication of annual open enrollment.
