Description : SUMMARY :
The Human Resources (HR) Generalist will be key in supporting various HR functions and initiatives, including recruitment, new hire orientation, employee relations, training and development, HRIS management, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in recruitment, HR principles and practices, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
This position is Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm at our Corporate Office. This is not a remote or hybrid position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Oversee the full cycle of recruitment efforts for our Region 1 & 3 locations.
- Conduct new hire activities, including pre-hire paperwork, background checks, new hire orientation, paperwork processing, onboarding, and new hire training.
- Collaborate with the training coordinator to identify training needs.
- Conduct new hire training : FA / CPR, CQL, CPI as needed.
- Assists with maintenance of personnel files to ensure compliance.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and / or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations, as needed.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS :

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE :
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in human resources, a related field, or equivalent work experience in HR. At least one year of human resource management experience is preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS :
This person will need to be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and / or memos, write routine correspondence, and effectively communicate verbally.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS :
The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY :
The person will need to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

The receptionist must be able to exercise discretion in dealing with the public and ability to handle confidential information. This person must exhibit a caring attitude that will help the Agency’s administration fulfill its Pride, Dignity, and Independence mission.
Dependability is vital. The successful candidate will meet deadlines, remember important details and routines, and complete assigned tasks. The ability to work efficiently and effectively in team situations is critical. This position has multiple and frequent interruptions, requiring constant reprioritization of responsibility to meet various demands.
