Position Overview: The Product Development Senior Associate will work across internal teams and external stakeholders to scale product development and expand a high-quality assortment. Reporting to the Director of Merchandising, the ideal candidate is a clear communicator who is invested in nurturing relationships between the company and manufacturing partners.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Product Development Manager to serve as a point of contact between internal stakeholders and external manufacturing partners for new product development.
- Ensure the quoting and sampling process proceeds in a timely, organized manner according to the Product Development calendar.
- Advocate for the elevation of product quality and design standards.
- Expand the network of manufacturing partners by leveraging industry knowledge and connections.
- Provide clear and concise technical feedback to manufacturing partners, including reviewing product shop drawings.
- Partner cross-functionally with the Operations team to develop domestic and international supply chains for both existing and new categories.
Qualifications:
- 4-7 years of experience in domestic or international design, sourcing, product development, and/or product operations; furniture start-up experience is a plus.
- Experience in a home retail or boutique commercial furnishings manufacturing organization or design firm.
- Experience moving products from concept to market, with strong knowledge of furniture design and construction.
- Ability to critically review furniture shop drawings from manufacturing partners.
- Connections within the industry, including manufacturers and material resources, are an asset.
- Creative negotiator with a proven ability to navigate various stakeholders and priorities.
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD required; working knowledge of Rhino and data management or PLM systems (e.g., Fohlio, Spexx, Specsources) considered a strong asset.
- Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
