Position Overview: The Fabrication Supervisor will be essential in overseeing and coordinating the activities of workers involved in the fabrication and assembly of structural products. This role requires expertise in welding, blueprint reading, and metal properties, paired with strong leadership abilities. Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of workers engaged in the fabrication and assembly of structural products.
- Analyze work orders and blueprints to determine materials, operations, and sequence of operations required.
- Requisition materials and ensure efficient use to meet production goals.
- Inspect work in progress and finished products to ensure they meet the highest quality standards.
- Perform welding tasks using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment.
- Assemble parts by bolting and perform repairs by dismantling, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
- Operate shop cranes, forklifts, and other equipment as needed to support production.
- Use sound judgment in managing employee productivity, attendance, and other issues, fostering a positive work environment.
- Follow and enforce company policies and quality assurance procedures.
Qualifications:
- Multiple years of high level experience in structural fabrication or a related field.
- Advanced welding capabilities, with qualifications in FCAW, GMAW, and SMAW.
- Advanced blueprint reading and comprehension skills.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
- Ability to operate shop cranes and forklifts.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
