Overview
Our client, a company known for its fun and unique consumer good product, is looking for a Wholesale Manager to lead and grow their independent wholesale channel while also taking over and expanding their presence in big box retail. They’ve built a strong brand presence and are now ready to scale their product offerings across boutiques, surf shops, gift shops, outfitters, and major retail chains throughout the U.S. This role provides an exciting opportunity to drive sales, manage a team of independent reps, and play a key role in growing the brand’s footprint in large-scale retail.
Location
- Greenville, SC surrounding area preferred
- Open to a hybrid arrangement for candidates within a few hours of Greenville, with 1-2 monthly on-site visits
Channel Overview
While still a developing part of the company’s overall revenue, the wholesale and big box retail channels offer substantial growth potential. In 2024, these channels are on track to generate over $2M in revenue, with even greater opportunities on the horizon. With strong leadership, these channels have the potential to become a much more significant contributor to the business, and this role will be key in driving that expansion by fostering relationships and seizing new growth opportunities.
Starting Compensation :
Year 1 Total Earnings : $110K–$130K (Base Attainable Commission / Bonus)Base Salary : Starts around $60KCommission : $40K–$50K in channel-tied commission already secured when you startBonus : Earn additional earnings through KPI focused bonuses.Additional Earning Potential : Expand beyond initial commissions by growing the channels and earning performance-based bonusesUncapped Commission : Significant year-over-year growth potential as the channels expandRep & Account Management :
Lead, expand and manage a team of independent multi-line territory repsRecruit, onboard, and manage reps in states where representation is lackingDevelop and maintain strong relationships with big box retailers to expand market reachManage “house accounts” (those not handled by multi-line reps)Oversee and grow relationships within both independent and big box retail channelsAttend 6-8 wholesale trade shows annually (Surf, Dallas Gift, ATL Gift)Event Support :

Multiple years of experience in sales leadership (consumer products or beverage industry preferred)Proven success in managing relationships with independent reps, distributors, and big box retailers, with experience working with wholesale accounts such as boutiques, surf shops, and similar businesses.Energetic, likeable, and respected leader with a sales-driven mindsetStrong communication, organizational, and goal-oriented skillsBonus Qualifications
