YOUR ROLE
- Work with all pertinent departments to develop and assure component specifications for both in-house and outsourced components.
- Develop fill and assembly specs.
- Work closely with all Divisions to include Package Engineering, Marketing, Creative, Sales, and Customers. Also work closely with Production, QA/QC, and Operations, Purchasing, and Vendors to ensure the desired finished product.
- Develop and executes packaging validations.
- Give technical advice and assist QA/QC in investigating component and packaging failure.
- Fill out packaging-related Non-Conformance Reports and work with necessary parties to resolve NCR issues.
- Provide incoming inspection, QA and QC with physical standards and specifications against which to check critical dimensions.
- Maintain component specifications in an organized manner.
- Work with Package Engineering and New Product Development to ensure that new products are introduced in a timely manner.
- Create packout patterns and pallet patterns.
- Develop secondary packaging such as shippers, pads, dividers, and fold boxes.
- Perform ship tests, stability tests, and other packaging tests to ANSI standard test protocols.
- Work with Quality, Data Management, Supply Chain, and Operations to ensure that routing notes and Bills of Material are accurate and up to date.
- Lead the preparation of line trials, first production runs, and samples to the field while working closely with Package Engineering and Compounding for smooth transfer of new products to operations. Develop and execute protocols, Analyze data, and disseminate reports to Package Engineering and all other key constituents.
- Perform investigative, cost-down, value-added, and other analyses as warranted.
- Keep current on test methods, market advances & trends, and sustainable initiatives.
- Assist in special projects and all other duties as assigned.
