Location and hours:
This position is hybrid and will be performed both on-site at various Hennepin County facilities and remote as job duties require. This internship will start in March 2025. Work hours are Monday through Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. The intern will work approximately 20 hours/week lasting 6 months in duration. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or be willing to relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin.

In this position, you will:
- Provide hardware and software technical support via incident management software, Microsoft Teams video and chat, telephone, email, and on-site support as needed.
- Assist with application user management.
- Assist with new hardware and software deployments.
- Assist with managing hardware inventory.
- Create and maintain reports.
- Document hardware and software technical information.
- Must be in one of the following:
- Current enrollment in an associate, bachelor's, or master's degree program in IT or a related field.
- Recent graduate (within 6 months) in an associate, bachelor's, or master's degree program in IT or a related field.
- Reliable internet connection and self-support hybrid office space.
- Access to reliable transportation to travel to sites throughout Hennepin County.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds and must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
- Experience:
- Providing excellent customer service in person and/or over the phone.
- Managing inventory.
- Working with or supporting computing devices.
- With Microsoft 365 products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and OneNote.) or equivalent Google products (Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Meet, Keep and Gmail).
- With data analytics and data visualization.
- Ability to:
- Troubleshoot and solve complex problems.
- Learn and apply software and hardware troubleshooting techniques.
- Work effectively with vendors, departments, and county staff in a professional manner, and be courteous and respectful to others.
