In this position, you will:
- Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the work of law enforcement and support staff assigned to the division.
- Assist in departmental planning, prepare budget, and creating the division's annual report.
- Maintain effective public relations.
- Handle grievances and divisional complaints.
- Coordinate divisional operations with other law enforcement agencies and county departments.
- Provide leadership to further department-based strategies that align with county goals, mission and core values for diversity, equity & inclusion.
Need to have:
- Eight years or more of approved law enforcement experience, including one or more years of experience as a law enforcement supervisor at the rank of Lieutenant or above.
- Must be licensed as a Peace Officer by the State of Minnesota.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a Hennepin County driver's permit.

- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, agencies, and the public.
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience or education around addressing racial equity, gender equity, LGBTQIA equity, neurodiversity equity, differing ability equity.
- Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in their work and interactions.
