What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parts Manager position at Hennessy Auto Group?
The Parts Manager oversees the Parts Department and is responsible for the profitable operations of the department within the dealership.
- Maintains a balanced inventory consistent with the requirements of the service department, body shop, wholesale accounts, and the do-it-yourself public.
- Hires, trains, motivates, counsels, and monitors the performance of all parts department staff.
- Establishes pricing parameters in each customer category that generate sufficient gross profit, produce a satisfactory profit while maintaining customer loyalty.
- Responsible for conducting physical inventory and reconciliation
- Creates goals and new objectives, including managing the budget and a marketing plan promoting new and repeat business
- Keeps up-to-date on manufacturer policies and recommended procedures while acting as liaison with factory representatives
- Maintains a high standard of customer service by addressing customer complaints immediately and within established dealership policies
- Ensures that the same high quality level of service provided to outside customers is also provided to internal dealership customers.
- Works with the service manager and body shop manager to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs.
- Analyzes departmental operations and storage layout and revises as needed for maximum effectiveness.
- Maintain dealership quality standards
- Analyzes sales, expenses, and inventory monthly to maintain profit goals.
- Enforces safety requirements, including but not limited to forklift training and operation, processing of MSDS sheets on all products carried, and OSHA Right-to-Know.

Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 25 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking. Must be able to handle working long hours and some weekends.
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear. The employee frequently uses arms to reach, hand and fingers to perform various duties. The employee is occasionally required to sit, walk and drive.
