What are the responsibilities and job description for the Materials Planner position at Henniges Automotive?
Highlights of the Position: Responsible to fully manage production materials throughout the supply chain and manufacturing processes including out sourced services for assigned programs, components and or suppliers. To ensure that the manufacturing operation has the right balance of components/raw material necessary to meet the build schedule and achieve targets set forth in the supply chain scorecard.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review, analyze and schedule as required within Material Requirements Planning (MRP) recommendations to produce supplier releases (firm and planned) for assigned production materials.
- Assists in implementation of lean concepts for replenishment based upon consumption.
- Responsible for inventory level and accuracy of the assigned products; investigate all inventory discrepancies for assigned parts/programs; including cycle counting and reconciliation.
- Input optimum planning parameters into MRP (i.e., lead-times, lot sizes, standard packs, safety stock, bill of material (BOM) values exploding properly, etc.)
- Monitor supplier compliance of our requirements and communicates any supplier discrepancies to suppliers. Work with suppliers to determine root cause for discrepancies and ensure appropriate corrective actions identified and implemented.
- Coordinate engineering changes and launch plans between production and suppliers to avoid obsolete inventory and ensure new product availability.
- Coordinate expedites of production material from suppliers as needed.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Required – Knowledge and skills typically acquired through an Associates Degree program.
