*Overview* We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced dental clinic. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our dental professionals and ensuring a positive experience for our patients. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, general dentistry practices, and familiarity with HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality. *Responsibilities* * Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by providing necessary tools and materials. * Prepare patients for treatment by explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort. * Maintain accurate patient records and manage appointment scheduling using dental systems. * Perform basic dental procedures such as taking x-rays, impressions, and applying sealants under the supervision of a dentist. * Sterilize instruments and maintain cleanliness in the treatment areas in compliance with infection control protocols. * Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. * Support administrative tasks including filing, billing, and coding using medical coding systems like Epic. * Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient care. *Qualifications* * High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a dental assistant program is preferred. * Knowledge of dental terminology, general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and medical imaging techniques. * Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times. * Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is advantageous but not required; we are willing to train motivated candidates. * Strong communication skills with the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment. * Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively. * Ability to adapt to new technologies and systems used in the dental practice.
