General Statement of Duties
Provides screening, counseling, case management, training or other specific treatment or rehabilitation activities as directed; does related work as required.

Essential Duties
Knowledge of principles, practices and methods of treatment and/or rehabilitation of individuals; good interpersonal skills which include the ability to empathize, demonstrate respect, communicate, ability to relate freely to and work effectively with clients and professionals from all levels of the community; adherence to basic ethics appropriate for any helping relationship; ability to write concisely and coherently; demonstrated ability to use good judgment. Services may include linking to community resources, monitoring, coordinating all service provision, assisting with obtaining transportation, and other duties as assigned. The successful candidate must have experience in the provision of substance use services and/or mental health services. The applicant is required to complete documentation within regulatory timeframes and to follow all applicable regulations. The applicant must possess excellent communication skills and be able to intervene in high stress crisis situations. Additionally, the applicant must be comfortable providing services in a jail setting.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a bachelor's degree in a behavioral science; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Additional Information
Some positions may require possession of a valid Virginia Commercial driver’s license, with endorsements and without restrictions.
May require a pre-employment physical examination and/or medical tests; including TB Screening administered by Henrico County Employee Health Services, the components of which are based on and appropriate to the specific sensory and/or physical demands of the given position, or standards established by the State.
Must be comfortable working in a secure area. Office and therapeutic work is located inside the jail in a secure area.
Must work at both Jail West (Henrico County) and Jail East (New Kent County)
Must have valid Virginia Drivers License
