What are the responsibilities and job description for the Detention Officer position at Henry County Sheriff's Office?
The Henry County Detention Center is currently taking applications for full time Detention Officers.
If you have an interest in law enforcement, this is the perfect entry-level position for you! This job will give you experience in every aspect of law enforcement: transportation of inmates, handgun and shotgun quailifications, deescalation tactics, restraint procedures, legal aspects, medical emmergencies, general day-to-day operations of a law enforcement agency, and soo much more.

We work 12 hour shifts on dedicated crews. That means you have every other weekend off and the most days in a row you will be scheduled to work is 3. The county pays out 13 paid holidays per year and sick time accrues at 8 hours per month. you will recieve 40 hours of vacation time at your 1 year anniversary, with vacation time awarded increasing with years of service.
We train our officers, we build our officers resumes, and we contract sponsor officers to POST academy. if you are thinking about a career in law enforcement, come and get your feet wet with us.
