Job Title : Payroll Specialist II

Shift : Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 4 : 30 PM (willing to be flexible)
Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week
Experience : At least two years of related payroll experience required; previous hospital experience is highly desirable.
License : None specified
Certifications : Payroll certification (FPC or CPP) preferred
Must-Have :
- Experience with timecards, Kronos, ADP, and PeopleSoft
- Experience with union contracts and garnishment
- HR background
- Analytical skills for comparison analysis and troubleshooting
- Decision-making skills for prioritization
Job Description :
Performs online edits and corrections in the PeopleSoft payroll system.Communicates with programmers and is involved in testing of pay issues.Calculates special check requests and audits requests by departments and HR.Processes internal adjustments for employees by analyzing past payroll information to calculate proper adjustments.Handles detailed corrections of the exception time report edits using advanced online corrections.Reviews and validates schedules and timekeeping, adhering to payroll guidelines, policies, and procedures.Resolves timecard discrepancies by contacting department supervisors and management.Responds to complex payroll inquiries from employees, management personnel, and HR.Communicates with employees and management regarding paycheck-related questions and concerns.Processes garnishment checks and manages the associated documentation.Prepares stop payment and voided checks promptly for reversal and reissue.Processes various deductions from employee paychecks.Calculates incorrect payments and processes necessary adjustments to recover overpayments.Selects, interprets, and applies appropriate codes, rules, and regulations for payroll transactions in the PeopleSoft system.Collaborates with the Payroll Analyst and Accounting team to ensure proper allocations to the general ledger.Ensures the confidentiality of sensitive information following company guidelines.Corrects 'no-time' edits for active employees who show no recorded time.Meets deadlines and works under pressure, with availability for extended work hours as needed.Participates in special projects as assigned.Additional Skills Required :
