We are working with a client seeking an experienced Procurement Contracting Manager to manage complex contracts related to information technology and telecommunications services and materials. This role will ensure that all contractual expectations are met and work closely with service providers to maintain effective relationships and optimize business operations.
Position Overview: The Procurement Contracting Manager will be responsible for implementing and managing well-defined processes to meet contractual expectations and objectives for technology and telecommunications providers. This includes managing the development, negotiation, and implementation of significant contracts (ranging from $1.5M to $10M), handling ongoing projects, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring warranties, transfer of ownership, and other contract-related issues are addressed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and administer contracts for various IT projects, including:
- Managing change orders, claims, and back charges.
- Asserting warranty claims and resolving disputes.
- Developing methods to assess contractor performance.
- Implementing controls to protect the company's contractual rights.
- Develop, plan, and coordinate contracting strategies for new contracts, ensuring the scope of work is clearly defined and assessing the qualifications of contractors through RFPs or similar processes.
- Lead commercial negotiations, ensuring contracts align with business objectives and the best interests of the company.
- Provide matrixed support to Project Managers and senior management, as well as periodic reports to key stakeholders.
- Manage the procurement and contract management team, providing oversight as needed for various projects.
Required Skills, Competencies, Education, and Experience:
- Education: B.S./B.A. Degree.
- Experience:
- 6-10 years of large contract management experience.
- 7 years of IT and telecommunications service management experience.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of technology and telecommunications projects and scheduling.
- Ability to assess and manage contractual risks and implement risk management strategies.
- Expertise in managing cost, change, and contractor performance.
- Proven track record in negotiating complex contracts.
- Other: Valid driver’s license.

- JD or paralegal experience is a plus.
