Our client is seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to join their Program Finance team in Phoenix, AZ. In this role, you will be a key financial business partner for multiple programs, assisting program managers and teams in developing baselines, monitoring performance, and investigating the root causes of any performance variances. You'll also support corrective action plans to mitigate and address any program issues. Your primary responsibility will be to provide financial decision support, ensuring the effective management of financial requirements and maximizing the program's profit by minimizing risk and supporting optimal execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Track, analyze, and report on projects of varying complexity and contract types.
- Work independently and within a cross-functional team environment.
- Use strong communication skills to interact with the Program Management Organization (PMO), project managers, technical staff, subcontractors, and customers.
- Oversee project start-ups, close-outs, and manage program revenue, cost management, and profit recognition throughout the life of the program.
- Perform financial analysis and offer program support related to the technical and business resources needed to achieve program objectives.
- Develop and review financial data for cost proposals, contract reviews, forecasts, and variance explanations.
- Participate in program and project reviews, ensuring compliance with internal procedures, DFAR/FAR, CAS, and estimating systems.
- Understand changes in regulations and their impact on programs.
Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in financial analysis.
- Ability to prioritize and manage a multi-tasked workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Basic knowledge of the defense contracting regulatory environment (DFARS and CAS).
- Problem-solving and investigative skills for complex financial challenges.
- Ability to make decisions with sound judgment while adhering to policies and procedures.
- Ability to work cooperatively across multiple Finance and non-Finance functions.
Experience Required:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, not limited to accounting/AR/AP.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
