Summary
We are seeking a Human Resources Manager to join our team at Heraeus. In this pivotal role, you will oversee HR functions that support our diverse workforce and contribute to the company's mission of technological leadership. This position is essential for fostering a positive work environment and driving strategic HR initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Implementation: Drive the execution of the regional human resources strategy to support the strategic objectives of the Heraeus Precious Metals Global Business Unit, focusing on the Wartburg, TN site and any additional locations as identified.
- Management Support: Collaborate with the site management team to devise and present strategic initiatives that enhance cross-functional cooperation within the local organization.
- Employee Relations: Foster effective employee relations by providing consistent support for administrative HR queries and day-to-day operations on site. Participate in investigating and resolving employee relations issues, proactively anticipating challenges and recommending solutions for resolution.
- Talent Management Champion: Lead talent management initiatives with a strong emphasis on attraction, selection, placement, retention, development, and succession planning. Support and lead Internship Programs and recruitment fairs, actively participating in the interview process.
- Organizational Guidance: Offer insights on organizational structure, performance requirements, and employee placement to align with the business strategy while adhering to the global HPM HR roadmap.
- Consultative Support: Partner with the senior leadership team on organizational change initiatives and talent management strategies.
- Global HR Projects: Assist the HR Director global projects and initiatives as assigned.
- HR Strategy Execution: Ensure the effective implementation of group-wide HR strategies by integrating global and regional HR tools and processes within the business.
- Leadership Support: Provide ongoing support to the HPM Leadership Team on various ad-hoc topics and projects.
- Workforce Planning: Develop, maintain, and monitor the workforce plan, including regular reporting and forecasting. Manage relationships with temporary agency vendors and ensure timely payments.
- Compensation Management: Oversee compensation management by conducting market price comparisons and ensuring incentive compensation aligns with business strategy.
- Job Profile Development: Create job profiles and engage in inter-company job analysis and benchmarking processes.
- HR Initiative Communication: Effectively communicate HR initiatives and align with the HR Director on implementation timelines and scope.
- Training and Development: Facilitate training sessions for managers and employees on HR policies and relevant topics, ensuring understanding and compliance.
- Advocacy for Workforce: Serve as a strong advocate for the workforce, ensuring employee concerns and needs are addressed.
- Regional HR Collaboration: Actively participate as a member of the regional HR team, engaging in meetings to promote cross-divisional efficiencies in training, benefits programs, policy development, and staffing efforts.
- Code of Conduct Adherence: Uphold the company’s Code of Conduct and ensure compliance in all job-related functions.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in human resources management or related field.
- Strong knowledge of talent acquisition strategies and employee development practices.
- Experience with HR software systems such as Paylocity or Kronos is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with employees at all levels.
- Experience in process improvement initiatives within HR functions is a plus.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources. A Masters Degree is preferred. The equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
- Thorough understanding of Federal and State employment laws including ADA, FMLA, OSHA and Workers Compensation.
- Demonstrate a high level of integrity, influence, professionalism and leadership ability; exhibit a high level of motivation (self starter) and initiative with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, proven experience in driving change initiatives and execution of program
- Must be assertive.
