Job Title: Director, Sales and Business Development
Location: Remote (Aligned with CST hours, 9 am - 5 pm CST )
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales and Business Development Director to lead our sales initiatives, develop strategic business growth plans, and manage key customer relationships. This role is instrumental in driving revenue growth, expanding our brand presence, and creating opportunities in the healthcare, natural supplements, holistic and wellness sectors across multiple channels, including e-commerce, retail, B2B healthcare, holistic, integrative, and herbal industry and markets.
In addition to traditional sales responsibilities, this role will oversee the remote customer service team, implement CRM systems, work with marketing to develop sales collaterals including sell sheets and presentation decks, coordinate efforts to enter the healthcare space, and develop retail and distribution strategies. Experience in the natural and herbal supplements industry, including working with brokers, distributors, and large retail chains, is critical. There will be a keen focus on deploying technology and AI to improve efficiency, building community and a laser focus on scorecards that KPIs and metrics.

Key ResponsibilitiesSales and Business Development
- Design and execute comprehensive sales strategies to drive revenue growth and achieve sales targets across B2B, retail, and e-commerce channels.
- Build and maintain relationships with distributors, brokers, and key retail partners, including co-ops, health food stores, and large retailers.
- Research and develop strategies to penetrate the healthcare market, focusing on hospital pharmacies and wellness programs that align with herbal and alternative solutions.
- Select and position products strategically for retail distribution to enhance brand visibility and market share.
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to create compelling sales collateral and promotional campaigns.
Operational Excellence
- Supervise and guide the remote customer service team to deliver outstanding service and meet KPIs, fostering customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Set up and implement CRM systems like Pipedrive, ensuring seamless tracking and reporting of sales activities.
- Establish and integrate sales monitoring dashboards, EDI technology, and other tools to streamline operations and optimize distribution.
Retail and Distribution Growth
- Develop and manage relationships with brokers under a commission structure to support expansion into new retail channels.
- Coordinate with distributors and retailers to ensure timely product delivery and availability.
- Support retail store sales initiatives, providing training, materials, and strategic direction to enhance performance.
Educational and Community Engagement
- Develop internal tools such as an app to support Herbalists and Nutritionists in educating and consulting customers about our products.
- Lead efforts to build awareness and grow Herbal Goodness brands in targeted markets.
Leadership and Strategy
- Monitor and analyze sales performance, providing regular reports and insights to guide decision-making.
- Identify emerging market trends and adjust strategies to maintain competitive advantage.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (marketing, operations, and product) to align sales objectives with company goals.
Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (required).
- Master’s Degree or MBA (preferred).
- 4-7 years of sales and business development experience in the natural and herbal supplements industry, with existing relationships to leverage to immediate impact and proven success in meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Demonstrated expertise in B2B, healthcare, and retail sales channels, including experience with brokers and distributors.
- Proficiency in CRM systems like Pipedrive, KPI tracking, and performance analysis.
- Strong knowledge of market analysis, strategic planning, and sales forecasting.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills with experience managing remote teams.
- Familiarity with EDI technology and distribution systems is a strong plus.
