Position Summary:
In this position you will be responsible for providing optimum animal welfare at an advanced level as well as train and/or lead a group of production l and/or ll operators. You will function independently in activities that play in the well-being and health of our birds.

Responsibilities:
- Cleaning of barns and equipment.
- Pest Management.
- Maintenance and proper running of feed and water lines.
- Collection of and processing of manure.
- At an advanced level, monitor, and manage activities impacting bird welfare-including lights, air flow, heat etc.
- Able to easily maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment including feed, water lines, egg belts, manure belts and other maintenance tasks.
- Responsible for taking on training of new operators within the environment and providing them with the knowledge and teaching skills to be successful.
- May be asked to serve as a lead person for a small group of individuals engaged in a specific task(s).
- Perform daily/weekly activities for the role for at and advanced level.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed to include weekends and holidays.
- Basic understanding of animal welfare and maintaining Herbruck’s standard of care.
- No contact with birds, swine, or cattle.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Ability to remain standing and or walking while sampling chicken houses.
- Working in an environment with live animals which can be dusty, dirty, and seasonally hot or cold.
- Ability to remain standing and/or walking for extended periods of time on concrete floors.
- Ability to stoop, bend, climb and lift at least 25 pounds. continuously throughout the day and 50 pounds occasionally.
Safety:
- Follow all company safety rules and biosecurity protocol.
- Proper PPE.
- Lock out tag out awareness/authorization.
- Report any safety concerns to Manager.
