Herc Rentals is a leading equipment rental supplier in North America, serving customers through over 450 locations and employing approximately 7,700 people. As a Mechanic Leader at Herc Rentals, you will assume a leadership role in product knowledge and standards of quality within the branch.
Job Purpose
You are responsible for utilizing your mechanical expertise to lead fleet maintenance operations, ensuring that Herc Rentals equipment remains on the rental ready line safely and professionally. This involves developing and maintaining a consistent schedule of preventative maintenance, operating and testing equipment to meet quality and efficiency standards, and performing routine maintenance and repairs independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a consistent schedule of performing preventative maintenance of all Herc owned fleet at your branch
- Operate and test equipment to ensure it passes Herc Rentals quality and efficiency standards
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all Herc fleet equipment and trucks independently
- Diagnose internal combustion engines, DC electrical systems, propane systems, hydraulics, and fuel systems
- Perform major repairs to maintain fleet equipment using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and measuring instruments independently
