Short Description
Coordination of the preparation of the SEC filings, including 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, Proxy, comment letters, as applicable, and others from time to time. Work directly with VP, Controller and internal SEC counsel on updates to reporting requirements, drafting appropriate disclosure to address updates and vetting with external auditors. Leading accounting research on various types of complex transactions and working with the VP, Controller on presenting the findings to executive management (CEO, CFO and CAO). These transactions will include but are not limited to, debt offerings, securitizations, derivatives, mergers and acquisitions and customer and supplier contracts. This position will be key in assisting management in determining the correct accounting treatment and assisting them in analyzing any alternative treatments under US GAAP
Responsibilities
- Evidence ability evaluate complex business transactions to determine the proper accounting treatment and suggest alternative strategies for structuring the transactions. Involve others within the Company to understand the transaction as necessary.
- Will inform and consult with management on new accounting and regulatory standards (e.g. SEC, FASB and IASB).
- Prepare and review of the Company’s external financial reporting documents, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, Proxy and others as necessary.
- Research technical accounting and reporting matters and author accounting memos and research papers.
- Communicate policy and technical matters to the organization, including senior management.
- Interact with internal and external auditors on technical accounting and reporting matters.
Required Experience
- Big 4 audit experience preferable
- Ten to 15 years of related work experience
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC regulations and SOX compliance
- Experience with external auditor consultations and SEC reporting requirements
- Ownership of filing documents with the SEC
Additional Experience Required
⦁ Experience with Workiva or similar SEC reporting software and XBRL tagging
⦁ OneStream consolidation system experience preferred
⦁ Demonstrated ability to manage the above responsibilities and sufficiently direct the work of others
⦁ Strong at execution, follow-up and attention to detail
⦁ Strong written and oral communication skills
⦁ Extensive experience in writing clear and concise communications on technical accounting and reporting matters
⦁ Commitment to process improvement and the ability to think “out-of the box”
⦁ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to the changing priorities and needs of internal and external stakeholders
⦁ Ability to effectively interact with internal and external auditors
⦁ Strong leadership experience, including excellent interpersonal skills
⦁ A team player, adept at building relationships across the organization
⦁ Able to meet deadlines without compromising quality
⦁ Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s/ Masters in Accounting
- Active CPA license required
