Compensation : $75,000-$90,000 annually discretionary bonuses based on plant performance.

So, what does an Assistant Plant Manager do?
You are the heart of our ready-mix operations team :
Operating the batch plant for concrete production to the highest standards.Responsibility for the start of the day and end of the day preventative maintenance and cleaning.Forecasting and ordering all necessary materials for production on a daily basis.Maintaining inventory records.Organization of batch tickets, invoices, daily paperwork, and forms.Assisting dispatch with overflow calls, routing and scheduling.Guide, mentor, and lead all plant personnel in conjunction with the Plant Manager.Provide assistance and take on additional responsibility with the Plant Manager is out of the office.Participate in daily planning meetings and make sure all goals are carried out to the best of the plant's ability.Provide customer service to all contractors that contact the plant.Preferred Qualifications :
Experience managing a concrete plant highly preferred.Experience in manufacturing, asphalt, or related industry also preferred.A college degree highly preferred, particularly in engineering, concrete industry management, construction management, or related field.An understanding of all aspects of concrete production and the types of products produced.An understanding of QC / QA for the ready mix concrete industry.A working mechanical knowledge of all plant related equipment.Knowledge of production equipment, production processes and maintenance programs.A commitment to team concepts, ownership and an outgoing personality.Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal professionally with all managers, employees, vendors and customers.Excellent problem solving skills.Working computer skills.May be required to use protective gear and to take other precautions.Required to work long hours during peak seasonAble to think analytically and on the spot when problems arise.The employee frequently is required to walk and stand, sit, climb or crawl around and under machines or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and drive a vehicle.Climbing includes the ability to work (at times) at heights in excess of 100 ft.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Familiar with WINDOWS (basic applications), Microsoft Office Suite, and basic computer skillsWorking knowledge, or the willingness to learn, of plant maintenance proceduresWorking Conditions :
Able to work extended hours as needed - Up to 60 hours per week during the peak season.Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoorsMust wear protective equipment while at the locationPhysical Requirements :
