What are the responsibilities and job description for the COORDINATOR OF INSTRUCTION position at Hereford Independent School District?
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Provide curriculum leadership and support classroom instruction to ensure an aligned, articulated, and cohesive instructional program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- Master’s degree from accredited university/preferred
- Valid Texas Teacher Certification
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop and deliver training to adult learners
Experience:
- Three years experience as a classroom teacher
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Instructional Management
- Participate in the evaluation of educational programs.
- Work cooperatively with district and campus principals in developing and supporting instructional programs.
- Participate in district and grade level/content PLCs.
- Encourage and support development of innovative instructional programs.
- Assist PLC development to enhance professional collegial relationships.
Organizational Climate
- Communicate effectively with district and campus staff.
School/Organizational Improvement
- Help principals develop, maintain, and use information systems to maintain to record and track progress on campus performance, objectives, and academic excellence indicators.
- Serve as a curriculum link with central office administration to coordinate with the campus principal to direct activities on any campus related to the responsibilities charged to the position.
- Comply with federal and state laws, State Board of Education rule, and board policy.

- Participate in professional development to improve skills related to job assignment.
- Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible.
- Plan and provide staff development for teachers, administrators and staff that aligns to district curriculum expectations.
