Essential Job Responsibilities
1. Cleans all common areas and resident suites according to schedule. Including regularly scheduled deep cleanings.
2. Vacuums all carpeted areas.
3. Dusts all furniture, common area items, handrails and hanging pictures.
4. Cleans all glass surfaces.
5. Cleans all fingerprints and other dirt from doors, doorways, and walls.
6. Vacuums upholstered furniture according to schedule.
7. Cleans and disinfects common areas and resident rooms/restrooms.
8. Mops common areas and bathroom floors.
9. Extracts and spot cleans carpets.
10. Transports housekeeping cart trash to dumpster outside.
11. Prepares rooms for admissions.
12. Encourages socialization among residents.
13. Protects and maintains residents’ rights.
14. Practices proper body mechanics when lifting and follow safety guidelines according to resident policies and procedures.
15. Ensures the residents’ right to sage, prompt and confidential treatment.
16. Assists in keeping the environment safe for residents and promotes resident safety principles at all times.
17. Reports all concerns about residents to the Executive Director.
18. Actively engages self as a positive member of the Heritage Team.
19. Carries out all duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
20. Attends all required scheduled meetings and required training sessions.

Knowledge Expectations
1. OHSA-MDS sheets and procedures are maintained.
2. Ensures that the housekeeping care and other supplies are in a safe area as to prevent any injuries to residents, employees or visitors.
3. Ensures that hazardous cleaning products are properly stored and labeled.
4. Knows the fire and safety procedures.
5. Able to read speak and understand English.
6. Ability to follow the instructions provided.
7. Maturity, friendliness and enjoyment in working with people.
Working Conditions
1. Heated/Air-conditioned environment according to state regulations, well-lit building with minimal barriers.
2. Weekend and holiday work.
3. Frequently supports up to 70lbs.
4. Lifting, pushing, transferring or pulling up to 50lbs., using proper body mechanics and /or available equipment.
5. Bending, kneeling or reaching to perform tasks.
6. Standing, walking and moving about without the need to sit down up to 6 hours a day.

1. Residents always come first and their needs will be met unless there is a conflict with the needs of others or organization as a whole.
2. Employees will not work under the influence of mood-altering or illegal drugs or alcohol.
3. Neat appearances, adherence to the dress code and food personal hygiene are required.
